Privacy Policy

Below is our privacy policy, which dictates how we handle any personal identification information we may glean in the process of doing business with you. Please peruse it and contact us with any concerns.

Introduction

This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Shalamar, A Benefit Corporation (hereafter “Shalamar”) collects, uses, maintains, and discloses information collected from users of the https://www.shalamarmedia.com/ website, as well as any and all other websites controlled by Shalamar. This privacy policy applies to each Site and all products and services offered by Shalamar.

Personal Identification Information (PII)

We may collect personal identification information from Users when you visit our Sites, place an order, fill out a form, respond to a survey, or otherwise interact with resources we make available on our Site. We may need to collect your name, email address, and mailing address in order to process transactions. You can always refuse to supply personal identification information, but it may prevent you from engaging in certain Site-related activities.

Non-Personal Identification Information

We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever you interact with our Sites. Non-personal identification information may include your hardware, operating system, and browser of choice. This information is only used for analytical purposes and is never shared with anyone else.

Cookies

Our Site may use “cookies” to enhance User experience. Your web browser places cookies on your hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about you, like what’s saved in your Cart. Shalamar does not use cookies to track Users beyond our Sites or to discern personal identification information.

How We Use Your Information

Shalamar may collect and use Users’ personal information to run and operate our Sites (we may need your information in order to display content on the Site correctly for you), to send periodic emails, and to respond to questions submitted through our contact forms.

Trouble

When we detect suspicious activity on our Sites, we may choose to monitor the potential sources of this activity. We are committed to providing our honest customers with safe and secure experiences on our Sites, as well as protecting their data as well as our own, and we reserve the right to observe the behaviors of any suspected malicious actors.

How We Protect Your Information

We collect only as much information as we need for any given transaction. We use measures such as two-factor authentication to prevent the stealing or misappropriation of your information when we do collect it. We adopt appropriate data collection, storage, and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information.

Sharing Your Information

We just don’t.

We don’t use Google AdWords or related advertising products. We do use analytics programs to observe general Site traffic trends. We choose to comply or not to comply with governmental subpoenas or requests for personal information on a case-by-case basis. Our website complies with Do Not Track initiatives.

Deletion Of Personal Identification Information

If you would like to have your information wholly removed from Shalamar, you may contact us via email or any contact form on our Sites. We will direct you toward the companies that we use to manage your data securely. These companies include Namecheap, our web host; PayPal and Stripe, the companies that manage our payment systems; and MailChimp, which we use for email marketing and forms. For the safety of your information, these companies do not give us the access to delete customer data, especially that which we do not see (PayPal and Stripe always block us from seeing your payment information, for example.) We chose these partners specifically because of their commitment to protecting customer data.

Email Marketing

We send out periodic emails about our products and services, because we figure you might be interested in them. We use MailChimp as our email marketing service. There is an unsubscribe link at the end of every email, and you can choose to unsubscribe at any time. You can also opt out by contacting us directly.

Third-Party Links

You may find links to third-party websites on our Sites. These are links to partners and resources that we have hand-selected. However, these partners and resources abide by their own privacy policies and terms of use, so be forewarned, if you follow a link off of our Sites, their policies may be entirely different from ours.

COPPA and Non-Adult Users

In order to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not collect information on Users under 13 years of age. If you are under 13, we ask that you seek the assistance of an adult.

Also, due to US contract laws, if you are under 18 years of age, we ask that you gain permission from an adult before you enter into any agreements with us. This applies to your acceptance of this Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions, among other things.

Changes To This Privacy Policy

Shalamar reserves the right to change any element of this Privacy Policy at any time. We may or may not notify Users via email. The “Last Updated” date at the bottom of this Privacy Policy will be changed. Your continued use of our Sites will represent your acceptance of the Privacy Policy as it stands at the time of your visits.
